KFC - The Colonel's Arms

Commercial

Synopsis

To celebrate the FIFA World Cup 2022, KFC opened The Colonel's Arms—the brand's first-ever pop-up pub on Fulham Palace Road in London. Fronted by football legend Jimmy Bullard, the campaign transformed a traditional British pub into a uniquely KFC experience, where customers could enjoy Colonel-approved beer, watch live football on big screens, play a "finger kickin'" good foosball table, and even have KFC Delivery brought directly to their table.

The commercial captures the playful spirit of the campaign while bringing KFC's unmistakable personality into an unexpected setting.

Creative Approach

The brief centred on preserving KFC's established brand identity while creating a warm, inviting atmosphere that made The Colonel's Arms feel like a genuine destination for football fans.

Working from KFC's supplied brand guidelines and Pantone references, I carefully balanced colour, contrast and exposure to maintain the brand's signature reds while enhancing the warmth of the practical lighting throughout the pub. Particular attention was given to keeping the food looking rich and appetising, ensuring skin tones remained natural, and creating a cohesive visual flow that encouraged viewers to imagine themselves enjoying the experience.

The final grade supports the campaign's playful personality while making the environment feel authentic, welcoming and, above all, finger lickin' good.
